THE FREEBIRD PROJECT
The Freebird Project is situated in the heart of Berawa, Canggu. This unique boutique complex encompasses three architecturally designed villas and a Kundalini Yoga & Meditation studio. Two of the villas offer a grounding haven for guests seeking serenity in Bali, while the third serves as the home of the creators of this visionary project.
At the core of the Freebird Project lies a dedication to freedom, balance and harmony, evident in its seamless blend of organic materials like stone and wood, alongside its focus on the mindful practice of Kundalini energy to cultivate spiritual awakening and renewal.
Thoughtfully Integrated
Architecture
Designed by acclaimed architect Alexis Dornier. Dornier’s organic approach to architecture, known for its unique shapes and integration with the natural landscape, resonated deeply with the creators, Anna and Dan. Together with the French interior design team Kosame and local Balinese artisans, they crafted a retreat that embodies the Wabi Sabi philosophy—embracing simplicity, the beauty of imperfection, and the art of slowing down.
Every detail within the Freebird Project is a reflection of this philosophy, from the natural materials to the meticulous design that seamlessly blends modern luxury with the beauty of the surrounding landscape.

Flourishing in Freedom
The Freebird Project is more than a home or business base; it’s a space designed to inspire community, connection, and introspection. The Freebird Project was born from Anna Trubuhovich and Dan King-Turner’s deep desire for freedom—freedom to create, to live authentically, and to explore life without boundaries. Their house-building venture in Bali reflects this ethos, embodied in both its name and its architecture.
“A bird can be caged, but a free bird can do anything its heart desires,” says Anna. For them, the Freebird Project symbolizes the possibility to spread their wings, unburdened by the limitations of conventional life, and to follow their passions wherever they may lead.
This vision of freedom extends to every element of the project, from the architectural design to the way of life it promotes. The villas are not just homes; they are spaces designed to inspire creativity, expression, and connection. With its open, flowing spaces, the Freebird Projectoffers a sanctuary for those seeking liberation from the ordinary, a place where individuals can reconnect with their inner selves andembrace the possibilities of an unconstrained life.
